The works on paper this year include a pen and ink view of the Bacino di San Marco by Francesco Guardi, an architectural capriccio by Giovanni Paolo Panini, and a luminous Alpine study by J. M. W. Turner. Also on display are Eugène Giraud’s scene of Cairo, a gouache and pastel portrait by Jacques Majorelle, and entomological sheets by Nicolaas Struyck. Among the twentieth-century selection are a study for a portrait by Tamara de Lempicka, a pencil self-portrait by Engelien Reitsma-Valença, and drawings by Suzanne Fabry and Leonor Fini.
